Formation and development are integral parts of the Christian foundation of our faith. At St. Paul Parish, our program of Religious Education encourages parents and guardians to see that faith is rooted and nurtured in the family setting.
It is essential that we work together with parents, guardians and families in the Christian formation of our youth, to help them see Jesus as the source of their lives.
The emphasis today in catechetics is on nurturing people in their faith journey. This includes not only the memorization of doctrine, but also the development of a relationship with God, nurturing one’s prayer life, an understanding of Sacred Scripture and an introduction to the liturgical celebrations of our Catholic community.
We also encourage our youth to become involved in the community, through service and ministry. As our children grow in faith, they need to play a meaningful part in our faith-filled community.
