The fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade Religious Education programs will begin September 27, 2010 and continue through March 2011. Classes will meet in St. Paul Interparochial School as follows:
Grade 5 Monday Evenings 6:00-7:00 pm
Grade 6 Monday Evenings 7:30-8:30 pm
Grade 7 Tuesday Evenings 7:30-8:30 pm
Grade 8 Wednesday Evenings 7:30-8:30 pm
Students are required to sign a covenant with the Religious Education Office agreeing to attend each week, arrive on time and complete all assignments. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students will take a year-end exam that must be passed in order to progress to the next level of instruction. In order for your child to participate in the Confirmation preparation program in the 9th and 10th grades; grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 must be successfully completed. We also ask that parents ensure the children are prepared for each class: completed homework and that each week they bring their book, Bible and a pen or pencil. We provide a new Bible for each 6th grader and any new student in our program.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: Students are also required to perform a total of 15 hours of community service while participating in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Junior High Program. Community service hours may come from many sources within the parish, for example, altar serving, choir, volunteering for the Summer and Covenant programs. Hours may also be completed within the community, for example, through Smith School Volunteer Club, scouting projects, etc. A parent must certify that the community service has been performed by the time the child completes eighth grade. This requirement must be met before admittance into the Confirmation program. Please note that these hours are a Junior High Program requirement and do not count towards the hours required while participating in the Confirmation program.
The registration deadline for the Junior High Program is Friday, June 25, 2010.

All-powerful God, Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, by water and the Holy Spirit you freed your sons and daughters from sin and gave them new life.
Send your Holy Spirit upon them to be their Helper and Guide.
Give them the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence.
Fill them with the spirit of wonder and awe in Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
